What a glorious Texas Spring day: 75 degrees and sunny. My sister is in town and all the "kids" fixed dinner for my Mum, who's recoving from knee surgery; Camila's thumb on her right hand moved (that's a big deal!), and I got a letter from my doctor saying my PSAs are normal. I don't feel like picking on anyone today. And then I hear the Texas Sharpshooter's* speech on the radio.

After all these years I still can't decide if he's an idiot or an evil genius. (Bumper sticker I saw in Ausin: "Somewhere in Texas, a village is missing its idiot")

Is there a word that coveys both meanings? One that doesn't malign savants (although that's kinda what he is)----- geniot? idious? Not since the days of Arlequino has anyone made stupidity work for them like that!

Anyway, here's my offering:

Bushworld

The Iraq war’s a success

The economy’s going strong

In George Bush’s reality

Everyone else is wrong

The problems in the Middle East

Come from meddling by Iran

Hamas, not Israel, you see

Is holding up the Plan

Millions of Iraqis

Are now enjoying Freedom

The two million, more or less

In Syria and Jordan?

AT&T and Verizon

Are patriotic spies

Anyone who can’t see that

Has sawdust in their eyes

Mexico’s well earned reward

For supporting our world order

Is seven hundred miles of fence

Along its northern border

This double talk is double speak

Right out of 1984

Twenty four years of right wing lies

And now it’s knocking down our doors

Sitting up in the wee small hours because I got spooked by something at work tonight ... and this spooks me, too! Although I really love the "geniot" and "idious" ... my vote's for the latter because it's kind of like "hideous"!
